Guide to Use Spire.Doc for .NET

Spire.Doc for .NET package contains dozens of sample projects of C#, VB.NET. All the projects are based on Visual Studio 2005, 2008 and 2010 for users to choose appropriate solution.

Besides demos, Spire.Doc for .NET provides dlls for.NET 2.0, .NET 3.5, .NET 4.0 and .NET 4.0 ClientProfile. When using, please add correct dll as reference according to your .NET Framework version.

Download and Install

Download Spire.Doc for .NET here and you can get a zip package named spire.doc_version. Extract this package and get the .msi file. Double click this file and install Spire.Doc for .NET to the specified path on your system.

After installing, there are a license introduction file and four folders: Bin(dlls holder), Demos(sample projects), Help and Icons. Although users can only extract Bin folders, it is better to preserve Demos and Help folders for new users to get some guides.

Please note that: Hotfix version just includes Bin folder. Therefore, please confirm that the matched RELEASE version has been installed on your system when you would like to download and use hotfix version.

Use DLLS

Users need to add dll files in project as reference to perform Spire.Doc for .NET to compile.

There are several folders, which save dlls for different .NET Framework version under Bin directory. After creating a project, right click project name → Add Reference → Browse → Spire.Doc folder → Bin → .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0/4.0 ClientProfile → Spire.Doc.dll.

Run Demos

After installing, the sample projects for C#, VB.NET are put in respective folders: CS and VB. Choose one folder and run sample project in it.

There are two methods to run demos:

  • Open the appropriate solution file (.sln) to get all projects this package has. To run the specified project, right click project name (for example Edit) → Debug → Start new instance. And then the result will be shown.
  • Open Demos folder → WinForms folder → Specified directory (for example Quick Guide) → Specified Project folder (for example Edit) → Open appropriate project (.csproj) → Debug → Start Debugging or Press F5.

Apply License

The license file will be sent to your registered Email automatically after purchasing. It is .xml file. When applying, you need to add it as embedded resource in your project.
